Should You DIY Your CoolSculpting® Procedure?

DIY Your CoolSculpting

DIY Your CoolSculptingAfter all this time spent dieting and exercising, could it really be true that all we really needed was an ice pack and all of our excess fat woes would be gone for good? Well, not exactly. CoolSculpting® can be an excellent body contouring tool that doesn’t require surgery, but there are a couple of caveats that we don’t suggest you overlook.

  1. Don’t Put All Your Eggs in One Basket

CoolSculpting®, which works by freezing and thus destroying your fat cells, can yield excellent results, but that doesn’t mean that you can ditch your diet altogether. In fact, like liposuction, the best candidates for CoolSculpting® should be at or close to their target weight before opting for the procedure. Sorry, but throwing a bag of frozen peas on your fat just isn’t going to cut it.

  2. CoolSculpting® Isn’t a Quick Fix

Although it might seem like a magic wand of sorts, CoolSculpting® can take a few weeks to see your full results. Cryolipolysis, the process behind this technology, isn’t going to have an instant effect, so neither would your DIY procedure. And unlike CoolSculpting®, at-home icing procedures could result in some serious frostbite, which is neither safe nor attractive.

  3. It Pays to Pay a Pro

When it really comes down to it, if it were as simple as applying an ice pack to your midsection, we would all be walking around with perfectly contoured beach bodies, right? Any time you’re considering a cosmetic procedure, it really is best to leave it to the professionals and not risk a DIY-gone-wrong.
