What’s worse than botched injectables? Well, nothing really. If you don’t want to end up with a seriously strange face, follow these tips to get the best results with fillers and BOTOX®.
Do Your Research
The first hurdle you need to clear is doing your research. Don’t cheap out. Don’t go with a back-alley practitioner. Take your time and find a provider you’re comfortable with who you know uses reliable product. Check out their before and after pictures and get an idea of what you’re getting yourself into. Oh, and those weird BOTOX parties? Yeah, stay far, far away from those.
If you don’t want botched injectables, make sure you’re not going to a sketchy back-alley provider.
Sorry honey, but injectables aren’t going to suddenly give you a celebrity’s face. We all want to look like Jennifer Aniston, but BOTOX isn’t going to do that for you. You need to manage your expectations to understand realistically what you can and can’t achieve with injectables. (See Step 1. Seriously, do your research.)
Follow the Rules
Your provider should send you home with some basic guidelines. Follow them. Like, don’t instantly smash your face into a pillow or prop a hefty pair of sunglasses on your freshly-injected nose. Sure, these treatments don’t require formal downtime, but you should still take it easy for at least the rest of the day.
Drink a ton of water, avoid sweating and just generally take care of yourself, and your chances for messing something up will dramatically decrease.
