How to Avoid the Pitfalls of Character Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic SurgeryMost of us are familiar with popular cosmetic surgery procedures, such as breast augmentation, liposuction and tummy tucks. However, there’s a whole other world of strange cosmetic surgery out there, with fans opting for procedures designed to make them resemble their favorite TV, movie and literary characters.

If you are a super-fan of a particular genre and would like to sport the ears of a pixie, the nose of a Game of Thrones character, or the curves of Lara Croft, the choice to undergo what others may consider to be strange cosmetic surgery is entirely yours. However, you should take care to avoid the potential pitfalls, including unwanted results and a look that’s nothing like you hoped for.

Choose Your Surgeon Wisely

As with all cosmetic surgery, it is essential to choose an experienced cosmetic surgeon. Take time to do your research and choose someone who has experience with the particular procedure you intend to have done. Never have any cosmetic surgery done in a clinic which seems less than reputable.

Uncertified clinics may be cheaper and more willing to perform character cosmetic surgery, but they also carry a significant risk of infection and poor quality results.

Be Realistic

While a certain look may be fantastic on the big screen, it may not translate well into everyday life. Remember that cosmetic surgery, particularly that of the strange variety, is permanent and cannot easily be reversed. Make sure you really do want to resemble that character and listen to your cosmetic surgeon if they offer warnings during your consultation. Before committing to cosmetic changes, consider how you may feel about them in a decade or more. Are you likely to regret it as you get older?
