Reason to Loaf

Reason to LoafTaking it easy on physical activity after plastic surgery can be good for you AND your results, so put down the dumbbells and fire up the Netflix. You’ve got a really good reason to binge watch something — but get up and walk around now and then too, okay?

Sit, Stand, Walk

Right after your tummy tuck, boob job, mommy makeover or other plastic surgery, don’t be afraid to put on the brakes and rest and recharge for a few days.

As they say, slow and steady wins the plastic surgery recovery race. Eh, or something like that. So take it slow, girlfriend, and start with just sitting straight up comfortably, standing and walking around your house. Then, get back to your Netflix binge.

Graduate to Light Duty

Depending on how extensive your cosmetic surgery was, you might have to wait 2 to 3 weeks before you can graduate to light walking around the block or getting on the elliptical. Still, you’re not running a marathon here and you should listen to your body if it’s telling you to hold your horses on exercise.

Check with Your Plastic Surgeon — No Cheating!

Not sure if you should be exercising? Ask your plastic surgeon — that’s what she’s there for!

After the first six weeks or so, you should be able to get back into the swing of your normal workout schedule. But before diving right in, talk to your plastic surgeon, please. If she gives you the green light, go ahead and put the remote down and resume your regularly scheduled activities.
