Liposuction

A Quick Lesson in Liposuction Lingo

Liposuction Lingo

Liposuction LingoYou’ve finally decided to try out liposuction. The only thing is that there’s so much liposuction lingo you can’t make heads or tails of anything. Here’s a quick primer of the most popular liposuction lingo terms.

Apple-Shaped Body

A blockish physique with broad shoulders, wide torso, full waist and broad upper back. The resulting shape is apple-like in comparison.

Banana Rolls

Rolls of fat underneath your butt cheeks. They appear as banana-like rolls arranged going downwards towards the back of your knees.

Hourglass

A much-desired outcome for most lipo patients, this is a body that’s shaped like an hourglass with the upper body and hips divided by a slender and curving waist.

Lipo

Short for liposuction, you will see this term used often in the context of liposuction. Other combinations of the word include Smartlipo™ and 360 lipo.

Love Handles

Sounds endearing but happens to be the bane of many an individual. These are fat deposits that accumulate around the waist area.

Smartlipo uses laser technology to liquefy fat deposits under the skin that are then removed through a small tube inserted into the skin.

Pear-Shaped Body

Another fruit reference and still fairly literal, the term refers to a woman’s body shape that is narrow at the torso/bust area but wide at the bottom/ thighs area.

Saddlebags

These are fat deposits on the outer areas of a woman’s hips that protrude well beyond the natural curvature of the hips.

Smartlipo™

A variation of liposuction, Smartlipo uses laser technology to liquefy fat deposits under the skin that are then removed through a small tube inserted into the skin.

Stubborn Fat

As the name suggests, these fat deposits simply won’t go away with exercise or dieting. People with stubborn fat make prime candidates for liposuction.

There are dozens of other liposuction lingo terms but we hope these few will get you started and remove some ambiguity from the entire process.
