When preparing for surgery, I find many patients put all their attention on the lead-up to the procedure. But no matter why you choose this surgery, it’s equally as important to prepare for your recovery too. Here are four ways to help your body bounce back from your tummy tuck in the fastest and most comfortable way possible.
1. Wear Your Compression Garment
Compression garments help reduce swelling and prevent fluid accumulation. They also provide additional support as you begin to move around following your procedure. Many patients find binding garments even make them more comfortable and help expedite the recovery process.
2. Take Time Off
It’s important to take adequate time off from work and other activities to allow your body to fully heal. In general, expect to need about two weeks before you can comfortably return to work.
